Genealogy
I enjoy looking into my family's past for many generations. If
all our information is true and correct, we will have about 70
generations dating back to about 150 a.d. of family. This
includes famous and the not so famous as well as historical
relevance that is interesting to say the very least.
Currently I am working on a project about a relative, my
Great-Grandfather named 2nd
Lieut. William Brundred Loomis who fought bravely in the
Spanish-American War of 1898-99 and he was brilliant enough to
have captured many of the events of his 16th regiment of
volunteers from PA, all
throughout the entire war. This includes pictures of ships,
landmarks, troops, individual soldiers, camps, artillery, and
lots more. Some of the photographs are without any notations,
but many are listed and tell specific events that are marked in
history (for example, when they were issued their guns, issued
rations, the
road house on Coamo that began the Fight of Coamo (Puerto
Rico), line-up for the march in Charleston, line-up before the
battle of Aybonito, two funeral processions - one of which was
a Wisconsin man, and lots more!).

assembled at 10:40 am in April, 1898 to board a train.

48 stars on it and several other articles, to also include
signatures of three who also fought alongside of my
Great-Grandfather (who must have been good friends) to include Major
Reed and Sgt. J. L. Hayes. The last signature I can not read at this
time because of the script.

2007 might just be the year that I put this all together into
a book to be published by a traditional in-print publisher!

I also hope to have an old Loomis Family Recipe book out soon
as well! The recipes are those that have been passed down from
generation to generation and also include favorites of the
Loomis family. Some recent ones are not so old, but used to be
family favorites (I am guessing), but as I add more, I will be stepping back
in time as well with some really old recipes. I hope to also
put together a book on these recipes as soon as possible too.
(Recipes are copyright protected materials,
the directions are and not the ingredients.)
